Buyers in the United Kingdom will be asked to provide proof of age.

Ordering From Dartmoor Knife:

Browse through our catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into your shopping basket.  When you have made your selection, click on ‘checkout’.  You will then be asked to create an account or log in so that we can process your order.

Payment:

OTHER COUNTRIES: May pay by Bank Transfer or PayPal (least preferred and only offered with items of less than £100 incl p&p). 

UK BUYERS: May pay by Bank Transfer, Over the Counter Payment at any branch of our bank, cash posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day, or PayPal (least preferred and only offered with items of less than £100 incl p&p).  Once you have checked out on purchase, email us for our bank details if not paying for a lesser-value Item via PayPal.

All Buyers Please Note:  For PayPal transactions, we post ONLY to the address CONFIRMED by PayPal.

Despatch Schedule:

We tend to process all orders, where possible, within 2 working days.  Please allow 3-5 working days for delivery within the UK, 5-7 working days for Europe and 7-15 working days Rest of World.

Despatch within UK (incl Northern Ireland)

Items will be sent via Royal Mail or courier.  If a buyer requires an expedited service, please email us for a quotation.  Dartmoor Knife reserves the right to replace any of the above services, without notice, for a similar or enhanced service, where we deem it more appropriate.

Overseas:

Unless an ad states otherwise, postage is charged.  Check the countries drop-down to see if we post to your country.  Notably, we only post to Canada where the Buyer pays by bank transfer.  Items posted outside the UK will be sent via air mail courier and insured for the full value of the goods. 

Refunds & Returns:

UK Buyers may return an Item to us within 8 days of delivery.  We may make a full refund, provided the goods are returned in perfect condition and in their original packaging.  A fingermarked/ stained/ creased Dartmoor Box Sleeve is charged at £50.  A fingermarked/ stained/ creased Dartmoor Owner's Booklet or Booklet Sleeve is charged at £50 each.  Damaged Foam Inserts are charged at £50 each.  Return all paperwork with the item.  We do not refund return postage costs.  Items lost or damaged in the post are insured, and we will fill out any necessary Royal Mail/courier claims forms on your behalf and liaise with the correct postal service to achieve a satisfactory outcome.  In the event that this becomes necessary, please be aware that a refund will be made as soon as we have clearance from Royal Mail/courier, and that this can take several weeks.  Meanwhile, we will endeavour to keep you informed of all developments as appropriate.

We do not accept returns from Overseas Buyers because of the problems with import duty/ taxes/ customs problems, etc.  We will not be held responsible in any way in the unlikely event that a Knife is confiscated by your local customs or other service.  We will not issue a refund in such cases. We are not responsible for any import duties that may be levied.

PayPal Refunds:

If we refund a PayPal payment, PayPal keeps the fees it has charged us and will not refund those. Unless we are refunding due to our error, your refund will be minus the fee that PayPal has charged us. This includes where a Buyer refuses to pay advance import duties and a parcel is returned to us. It also includes forced PayPal payments, where a Buyer buys an Item over £100 and instead of checking out via bank transfer, short-circuits payment through the site and sends a PayPal payment directly to our email address.

Undelivered Items:

Couriers normally make 3 attempts to deliver items and/or leave a card for the Buyer to make contact to arrange delivery or collection from the nearest courier depot. Where a Buyer is unavailable on delivery day, they should then contact the courier and arrange redelivery. If an item is returned to us because a Buyer has failed to be at home when the delivery attempts were made, a 20% restocking fee will be made by us for the time, expense, and inconvenience caused. If the Buyer wants the item to be sent again, they will have to pay a further courier fee. We will not refund Overseas Buyers in such cases. The only option is for the item to be sent again or - if we agree - for the item to be resold on our site for our standard commission fee.
